Feast of St John the Baptist

Summer Solstice ~ Thursday 21 June 2007

We revived of the ancient Masonic tradition of the Feast of St. John the Baptist.  Our event has similarities to a Masonic Table Lodge, except that ladies and guests are cordially invited to our sumptuous Feast.

Just as the winter feast of St John the Evangelist falls on the winter solstice, so the feast of St John the Baptist falls on the summer solstice, adding an interesting perspective to the symbology of the Point within the Circle.

The historic Red Lion Inn is located on South Main Street, downtown Cohasset, and has been a prominent feature of the town since 1704.

The festive night will feature commemorative toasts, informative speeches, the Inn’s famous Konahassett Prime Rib Dinner with all the tracklements, much pomp and ceremony, and the legendary Passing of the Port.
